The Online Shopping Scam I Experienced
A few months ago, I came across an online shop on social media that sold branded clothing at extremely low prices. The page had many followers, positive comments, and convincing photos, so I believed it was real. After I placed my order, I never received a tracking number and the seller stopped replying. That was when I realized it was a scam.
The purpose of this scam was simple: to collect quick payments from as many people as possible before the page disappeared. The scammers used fake reviews, stolen photos, and social proof to make the shop look trustworthy.
Looking back, there were several signs I could have checked. First, the price was unrealistically low. Second, the page had no real website or customer service information. Third, the comments looked copied and repeated. In the future, someone facing the same situation should verify the store’s background, search for real reviews, and avoid paying sellers who only accept instant transfers.
